Dr Ben Smith has more than 10yrs experience as a rural GP in the Darling Downs district, with a special interest in Skin Cancer Medicine. Dr Smith completed his medical degree at the University of Queensland in 2007. Upon graduation, he spent a further 3 years in various metropolitan hospitals within South East Queensland, gaining experience across the various surgical specialties. However a career as a GP soon beckoned and he completed his fellowship in 2014, with an Advanced Dip in Obstetrics. Following fellowship, Dr Smith moved with his family to the Darling Downs region to work as a general physician and provide advanced obstetric care for the local hospital. This was a fantastic experience providing him with broad exposure as a general/emergency phyisician, surgical obstetrician and a GP with a special interest in skin cancer management. Due to the large volume of skin presentations, he has become adept at identifying and treating various skin cancer presentations, with positive cosmetic outcomes. Dr Smith has enjoyed settling into the region, rekindling his passion for surfing (badly), fishing and snorkeling. While he continues to work as an obstetrician in his prevprevious location, he looks forward to bringing his skin cancer experience to this practice. An initial appointment will involve taking a medical and family history, followed by a physical and thorough skin examination. Based on these findings, we can develop a management plan tailored to your specific needs.
Dr Anwar Alackal Ismail , FRNZCGP, FRACGP, Advanced Clinical Certificate in Dermatoscopy , Diploma in Aesthetic Medicine. is an accredited skin cancer doctor. He graduated from medical University Plovdiv , Bulgaria in 2004 and has extensive experience working in India ,New Zealand and Australia He moved to Australia in 2008 to advance his medical career. Later he moved to New Zealand and worked indifferent departments in Rotorua hospital advancing his skills. During his specialist training as a general practitioner, he developed a special interest in skin health ,specifically in skin cancer medicine and surgery. Aiming to advance his skills in skin cancer and aesthetic medicine, he moved back to Australia in 2017 and has further advanced his skills in cosmetic medicine and skin cancer treatments.
Dr Andrew is a passionate skin cancer doctor and local to the area completing his medical degree at the University of Western Australia in 2012. Dr Harvey grew up on a cattle property in South West Queensland, before completing his secondary school years at boarding school in Brisbane. Following high school, he completed his Medical Degree at James Cook University and subsequently completed his internship at the Princess Alexandra Hospital. He completed further training in various other Brisbane and Queensland Hospitals and spent several years working in the United Kingdom.
Dr Harvey holds a Masters in Health Economics (University of Queensland) and a Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. In addition to his skin cancer work he is the Medical Director of House Call Doctor.
While studying Dr Harvey was the Captain of the University Rugby team, and tutored medical students in anatomy and physiology. In 2013 he obtained a Guinness World Record for playing the trumpet in the world’s largest orchestra. Shortly thereafter that same year, he was married and moved to London where he stayed for 2 years. During his time living and working overseas, Dr Harvey developed a taste for travel and he and his wife have now visited over 50 countries.
